Susan graduated from Georgia State University in 1998 with a Bachelors in Physical Therapy. .She worked at Children’s Medical Center in Augusta Georgia from 1998-2000 where she worked in the NICU, ICU, as well as outpatient and inpatient center. At the Children's Medical Center, she was an integral part of the Cerebral Palsy Team where she participated in the development of the treatment protocol of children with Cerebral Palsy along with neurologist, neurosurgeon, orthopedic and rehabilitation physician. Susan also started the aquatic program and was a founding memebr to start the adapted ski program in Augusta.
In October of 2000, Susan moved to Atlanta to established Therapy Steps Inc. She wanted a company that focused on quality patient care. Susan is highly experienced with multiple diagnosis including medically fragile children, Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome, hypotonia, postural and gait deviations, musculoskeletal disorders, torticollis, as well as rare disorders such as arthogryposis and spinal muscular atrophy. She completed the 8-week Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) program in the treatment of children with Cerebral Palsy in 2000. She has been trained in therapeutic taping, serial casting, splinting, myofascial release, therapeutic electric stimulation, aquatic therapy, TheraTogs fitting, and treadmill gait training. Susan received her clinical certification on use of TheraSuitâ„¢/Universal Exercise Unit leading multidisciplinary intensive programs in 2019 and the advance course in 2020. Susan enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and 2 sons
